Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?

Yes, I do it all the time when I need to shower in a rush. It works perfectly fine.

I usually mix the shampoo and conditioner in my hands first then apply to my hair.Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?
Why not just buy a 2-in-1 shampoo conditioner to begin with?Could you mix shampoo and conditioner together then just do one rinse....for kids?
ohh yess! b/c it seems that the 2in1 that you can by just doesn't contain enough conditioner :).. I would do it half and half. and go for it. :)
Yes, but don't buy a two in one, it ruins your hair.
YES!! I have done this many many times
No. A 2in1 Shampoo Conditioner is a load of crap. The two products do totally separate things. Shampoo lifts the cuticle to remove dirt and oils, and conditioner closes the cuticle and deposits minerals and such to repair damaged hair.

Shampoo and Conditioner Question! Easy 10 Points!?

I have started using garnier frutis moisture works shampoo and conditioner. My scalp has been dry and a little dandruffy. I also notcie that it is bringing red out in my hair! I didnt notice it but my mom did, she was like carly did you dye your hair red and i was like no of course not. Has anyone else experianced this while using the product garnier frutis? What kind of shampoo and conditioneShampoo and Conditioner Question! Easy 10 Points!?
i tried garnier and hated it. it dried my hair out. i never experienced that though. i would just reccomend to stop using it. i have tried many MANY shampoos/conditioners but these are the best by far. try these brands:

Pantene, Aussie, Nexxus [pantene moisturize renewal collection is probably the best collection for you]

For dandruff, Head and Shoulders is a good brand.[can buy at all local supermarkets]

You can buy Pantene and Aussie at places such as Target. Nexxus is available at salons, Ulta, Longs, and www.nexxus.comShampoo and Conditioner Question! Easy 10 Points!?
I use that shampoo and conditioner too! What a coincidence. LOL:)

No, my hair has not turned red.

Are you sure that you're rinsing it out properly? Also, did you blow-dry your hair?

Air-drying it can cause your hair to change in color or texture, because the particles that are in the air can soak into and damage your hair.

Moisture Works works perfectly for me, and I love it! You just have to use it right.
I use herbal essence in the green bottle http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect鈥?/a>

they also have ones to prevent dandruft
I dont use them, I love the dove collections.

Do you run out of conditioner or shampoo sooner? (If you start with both bottles full at the same time)?

Definitely conditioner. I go about two bottles of conditioner to every one bottle of shampoo.Do you run out of conditioner or shampoo sooner? (If you start with both bottles full at the same time)?
I run out of shampoo because I use the shampoo twice in a wash, but the conditioner is used only once per shampoo.

(I have short hair.)Do you run out of conditioner or shampoo sooner? (If you start with both bottles full at the same time)?
I always run out of conditioner first. I started buying the large bottle of conditioner when I got my shampoo, and now I am no longer having that problem! Have a great day! Annie
always conditioner, i use more conditioner than shampoo
I seem to run out of shampoo first.
I run out of conditioner faster than shampoo. My stylist says its better to apply more conditioner than shampoo to my hair.
use conditioner/shampoo in one go not separately/ except in my jacuzy, use olive oil for massage or aroma oil
lol,conditioner always goes first.........
Depends on the brand. I always used to run out of conditioner first. I started using a new shampoo and conditioner set and the shampoo doesnt lather well so I end up using alot of that.
Shampoo.
always conditioner first. i use a lot of conditioner
I always run out of conditioner first. I have very long curly hair..........

Is there a shampoo and conditioner with NO fragrance smell?

im sure there must be, but what for?Is there a shampoo and conditioner with NO fragrance smell?
Try looking in Wal Mart there might be some there. Is there a shampoo and conditioner with NO fragrance smell?
I don't think the clear Neutrogena has a smell to it. It's designed to get all the gunk out of your hair, so it's pretty fragrance-free.
Yes my mums uses it. Its called ';simple';, im not sure if there's a ';simple'; conditioner aswell.

You can get it from any drugstore (i think). Its like a white bottle and it has a light green lid!
All of Paula's Choice products are fragrance free and very good.

http://www.cosmeticscop.com/
noo dont think so
try the simple soap range
i dont think there is

even those natural things have an essence
I searched for years because of my scent allergies. The closest thing I could find were some products by Suave but then they were discontinued.
mane and tail -- its in the pet aile but i promise its the best for removing the film others leave on your hair.
Few, and far between...!!!

Pantene Pro V Shampoo and Conditioner?

Okay so this is girl shampoo right?Pantene Pro V Shampoo and Conditioner?
Think of it this way. If you used this product can anyone look at your hair and tell you've used Pantene Pro V, or any specific product for that matter? Men have the same type of hair as women, so it would not be taken care of any differently - except for the different styles. You still need to keep your hair from getting oily, or from drying and keep it looking good. Women, just know how to do it better and which products to use. Pantene Pro V Shampoo and Conditioner?
I think so but im sure guys could use it if they want to

answer mine please

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>

  • Does your house hold ALWAYS run out of conditioner before shampoo, like mine?

We used to, until we figured out that you can use WAY less conditioner than you are used to and get the same result.....Does your house hold ALWAYS run out of conditioner before shampoo, like mine?
yes, that is because the conditioner is alot lighter than the shampoo so there is alot of air that gets trapped into the bottle making it look like there is more conditioner than there actually is, that is why your bottle usually dent when you take the conditioner out, as all the air come out by squuezing out the conditioner, so there is actually more shampoo than conditioner.

hope that answered your questionDoes your house hold ALWAYS run out of conditioner before shampoo, like mine?
yes because ppl tend to use more conditioner than shampoo. Also some products will make the conditioner bottle smaller to make more money.
yes, because the shampoo is thinner than conditioner so more fits into a bottle, and conditioner is thicker so there is less than the shampoo

also people use more conditioner than shampoo
Since the only conditioner I use is already in the shampoo, I can't run out of one before the other. God Bless you.
heehee yeah. we use more conditioner because it makes your hair softer and smoother.
    exact oppisite for me!

then again I live w/ a bunch boys who rarely use conditioner
Yes because we only put shampoo on the top of our heads.
    Yeah, usually.
yeah, my house too. i think its because we use a whole lot of conditioner, but not too much shampoo.
yes! i always wondered why, but i guess its cause we have like waay more girls than guys in my house hold lol
yes I think every girld does. Unless you are a guy, cuz guys don't use much conditioner if any at all
hahah yes! the conditioner bottle is so little. i hate ittttt
    Lol yeah.
    yes. lol
YES! lol, i use lots of conditioner though.

Hi, i am 27. my hair are very dry and rough. i want to know which shampoo and conditioner i should use?

Amway products... it's good and no side effectsHi, i am 27. my hair are very dry and rough. i want to know which shampoo and conditioner i should use?
I can suggest a few very good products for you to try.

The first one is Saturate Intensive Moisture Shampoo, and Saturation Leave-In Conditioner. These two products are made by a company called Brocato. I have had great results with this brand.

The second one is Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Shampoo, and Conditioner, and also they have something called K-Pak Reconstruct Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor. All these are from a company called Joico. These particular products are made specifically for damaged hair, but they really work wonders for dry hair too (which may be the result of damage anyway).

One thing I should point out. These are professional products, which means you will not find them i at your local drug store or supermarket. Normally, they can be purchased only through a professional salon which carries these brands. Also, a licensed cosmetologist can buy these products, and more at professional beauty supply stores, in case you know anyone who does that kind of work. They are both excellent, reputable companies who make top notch hair products. And they are a bit pricey because of that. But, you get what you pay for...Hi, i am 27. my hair are very dry and rough. i want to know which shampoo and conditioner i should use?
same with me... i tried dove.. go for it .. its good,.
I used to dye my hair in every 2 or 3 months, and had it permed then straightening back few days later, once I didn't like the perm .And I used hair straightening iron or curling iron almost everyday for work. So, because of that my hair is very dry and damage and split end a lot. The Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner is working for my hair better than any other kind I had try. It helps reduces the dryness and less tangle. Beside it, I am also using the leaving conditioner called BIO SILK,silky therapy and also can be use on dry skin. Use it after every shampoo. It helps my hair less dry and prevent breakage. Try not to use a lot of heat on your hair like stying it all the time. It will regain the texture and more you can feel the different in few months. My did. Hope this help.
    DOVE

it makes ur hair silky and buttery

also, i know this sounds silly but put mayonaise on your hair and rap it in tin foil. leave it on ur hair the whole day (stay in the house of corse!) AND THEN shower. and it makes ur hair hydrated and silky
    pantene
    lakme shampoo and conditioner(snap shine)

    l'oreal shampoo and comditioner
tresume or pantene pro-v. my hair used to feel lke a brillo pad but since i started using those 2, its been baby soft
clinic plus ayurvedic shampoo and garnier ulta doux conditioner
Sunsilk, dove and garnier are good choice both in shampoo and conditioner. Try which are recommended for dry and rough hair .
I had also encountered by these problem , in past

But according to me no shampoo no hair conditioner are effective,

using of natural coconut oil is the best way to reduce these problem
I used Terressentials for shampoo and apple vinegar(1 part of apple vinegar and 2 part of water) for conditioner. I prefer the vinegar better since the acidic level is low, I recomend the organic one. I am more about natural health person so I am not sure about the conventional stuff.

You can try to rinse your hair with beer after you wash it ... sorry, It sounds weird but it does help.

You should also consider about your diet as well since hair as a mirror reflex your personal health. Eat more bean sprout(B complex), food have good source of vitamin A and B, magie, sulfur, zinc....

There is a certain amount of lipid you need to supply for your body everyday( i think about 2 table spoon). The dryness would be because you are not eating enough lipid. I recomend to eat food have amino acid, unsaturate fat(salmon, flax seed oil...) it will help your hair

Dont drink soda, coffee, alcohol , dont be stressful because it will be really bad for yourhair.

Brush your hair everyday, use the good comb.

Massage your scalp every week to stimulate the hair pore.

Dont use hot water to wash your hair, also, avoid use hair dryer have high temperature, dye, hair straightener...

I heard a tip that use virgin olive oil would help. Before go to bed massage your hair gently with the olive oil( avoid touching the scalp but concentrade in the hair) and put a shower cap on, go to sleep with it and the next morning rise out( I havent try it but I ll try tonight, may be ...)

well~ best luck with your hair~ PM me for any question
    dove shampoo and conditioner
try using dove hair shampoo and conditioner. it's the most creamiest stuff that i have ever used. i have curly hair and after using it i can actually comb threw it even after it dry's which usually i can't. i have to wash and set my hair every day. but someday's i just want to comb it out and put it up. with dove you can do this

    good luck

I am 30 yrs old. I am from India. Can you tell me the shampoo / conditioner for dandruff and white hair.?

My hair falls frequently and I have lot of white hairs and dandruff problem. Can you please suggest me the shampoo / conditioner to solve these problems and also for hair growth.I am 30 yrs old. I am from India. Can you tell me the shampoo / conditioner for dandruff and white hair.?
Any name brand dandruff shampoo would be OK. Try several if you are not satisfied. Some might work better for one person and not for another.

As far as the gray hair goes, try less stress. I do not think there are any products other than hair color. People who have stressful jobs and lives seem to gray faster than other people. So take it easy more.

As far as hair growth, there are several reasons for hair loss. Some is genetic and some is caused or made worse by people wearing hats. A hat will reduce scalp circulation and can encourage premature hair loss. Rogaine and other products help stimulate hair regrowth. Massaging your scalp for 15 minutes a day can also help improve blood circulation in your scalp and can help regrow or slow hair loss.I am 30 yrs old. I am from India. Can you tell me the shampoo / conditioner for dandruff and white hair.?
Shampoo may not be of much help. White hair has no solution, shapoos wont make your hair black.

Anti-Dandruff shampoos give only temporrary relief.

Visit a Dermatologist/Skin Specialist for detailed investigation of your case. Dont visit a homoeopath as they are of no use and you would end up spending money in wrong direction.
my advice. you can try lorel shmpoo and conditiner for dandruff
for dandruff u need to see if u have dry or oily dandruff?

dry dandruff is flaky and drops off easily plus u have a dry scalp.

oily dandruff is all over ur scalp but doesnt brush off easily.. plus u have an oily scalp.

    for dry DANDRUFF:

u must oil ur hair regularly... sweet almond oil is the best and follow by wrapping a hot towel.. to steam ur hair.. leave oil overnight or atleast an hr b4 washing..

head and shoulder shampoo and conditioner will definitely help..

    for oily dandruff:

rub some plain yogurt or lemon juice to reduce dandruff formation and cut down the oil.

u may need a stronger shampoo like selsun.. but mind u .. it smells funny or use head and shoulders shampoo.

    condition with head and shoulders.

u cant do much about white hair other than colour it or use henna.

but if there are too many white hair .. then dont henna, cause ur hair will look more orange than brown...

    good luck.
    use pantene shampoo
check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:-- Dandruff

Dont use anti-dandruff shampoos. They speed up greying of hair.

I use meera herbal hair wash powder twice a week .that is after massaging oil into scalp and hair and keeping for 1 hour.

My mother has silver hair .She is using henna(mehndi leaves with lemon juice )

for years. Its very effective. No new silver hairs are formed.

Do not use Black rose kali mehndi.

For hair growth take calcium through diet or calcium sandoz.

Iron and calcium are esential for hair growth.

Eating 1 egg daily also improves hair growth .

  • Hydrating/Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner?

What's a shamp. %26amp; cond. that will repair my split ends and hydrate my ends without making my hair feel straw-like but instead smooth and silky?Hydrating/Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner?
I went to my salon with fried hair, begging them to change the colour. They allowed it under the condition I used Bumble and Bumble ';Deeep'; once a week on my hair. It's a leave in conditioner that is rinsed out after 20 minutes. A dime sized amount is needed for longer-than-shoulder-length hair, so it lasts and lasts. It was a tad expensive, almost $40 in Canada (purchased from Frenzi salon and spa), but it brought my hair back to life and smells GREAT (like bananas)!

Doing a treatment on your hair once a week will repair it faster than just using shampoo and conditioner. Leave in's are formulated to revitalize hair.

I also stopped into Sally's (a beauty store for salon artists with amazing deals), and remembered when my hair was severely damaged I used a shampoo/conditioner set made by Proclaim that had olive oil in it. The link to the conditioner is here (you can buy it online at unbeatable prices):

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Olive-Glossin鈥?/a>

Olive oil gives your hair a great shine, and rehydrates extremely well. I'd also like to throw in that I'm sure many shampoos with olive oil work well, but this is the best I've used so far. I even tried olive oil conditioner from the Body Shop and still prefer Proclaim.Hydrating/Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner?
I have answered so many questions like this with just about all the same answer, haha!! Pantene Pro-V has been my favorite shampoo and conditioner for a long time. It makes hair extremely smooth and soft and makes your hair shiny too!! It also smells great!! It also helps prevent split end from re-occurring in the future...but in order to get rid of your current split ends, i recommend just getting your hair trimmed and the split ends ill all be gone!! but Pantene Pro-V is definitely the best shampoo and the conditioner is exceptionally great!
There's lots to choose from. The Redken Extreme line will help to repair your hair. Try the deep fuel serum. Biolage has a repair line with bamboo in it that is more affordable than Redken that you can use after you get it back in good condition to keep it healthy.

Girls! What's your favorite shampoo and conditioner?

cuz I'm a blonde,I LOVE Bed Head Dumb Blonde ,but anything is good from Bed Head.Girls! What's your favorite shampoo and conditioner?
tresemmeGirls! What's your favorite shampoo and conditioner?
Dove for Darkeners if I'm going for cheap..if not Nexxus-any of them really, but I really like Therapee and Humectress conditioner.
i like that sunsilk shampoo because it smeels good, fixes your hair problems, and is inexpensive
    aussie it works wonders!
well herbal essences smells good, garnier fructis gives my hair a little more body, but i would definitely have to say sunsilk! they have nice bottles, smells good, actually works, and is inexpensive.
I use suave alot, but I like the conditoners that leave your hair feeling like silk when you rinse it out.

I do not like dove, the conditioner felt like crap in my hair.
it really depends on what kind of hair u have.

i reccomend looking into the new herbal essences collection. they have great products for all hair types... thin, flat, curly, frizzy, normal, wish it was straight...

i use the none of your frizzness. it works REALLY well for me
My favorite is pantine! It makes my hair soft and silky. It makes it shiney and smell good too!

    鈾?sportnut
I love Vosene, the smell reminds me of when I was a kid! I use any conditioner - whatevers on offer at the supermarket at the time!!!
Personally, I like to mix mine. My absolute favorite is Suave Daily Clarifying, which I always mix with Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating for Honey to Caramel shades (mostly because it makes the bottle of Sheer Blonde last longer, and Suave is cheaper), with the occasional addition of VO5 Moisture Milks (any scent) for added silkiness. I do the same thing with conditioners. And yes, I'm talking about putting all three on my hair at once, as opposed to redoing and rinsing everything over and over.
Brunette!!!! even if you have like dark dark brown hair. or tresseme. %26lt;--smells sooo good.
garnier fructis!!! it smells so good and it leaves my hair soft and silky! its the best!
Dove for dark hair. I have thick, wavy hair that I dye dark auburn. It helps keep the color, and keeps it soft.
sunsilk definatley. they have shampoo for every hair type.
Aussie makes my hair feel incredibly soft. I like Charles Worthington shampoo because it makes my hair like dry faster because it is squeaky clean but it doesn't rinse very well, but i love garnier fructis products to no end. I like pantene a whole lot too. ooh smells good and feels good and reminds me, i'm out. Paul Mitchell smells weird, but i like it, and for the frizz control, it's all about the Aussie. good question... i have endless amounts of products EVERYWHERE. lol. leave it to the girl with frizzy, could-be-shinier hair to have all the possible products in the world.
    Biolage
    suave or pantene
    Any Jason products.

I use Jason Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner. It is key to preventing split ends. It is all natural and leaves my hair as soft as silk. Biotin is also an ingredient used in vitamins to enhance the growth of hair. He has a fantastic all natural line lacking of all chemical ingredients that can damage your hair over time.

Do you run out of Shampoo or Conditioner first...?

Do guys even use conditioner?Do you run out of Shampoo or Conditioner first...?
This is the question I've always been meaning to ask!

    Then I always forgot it.

Well, looks like you beat me to it.

    haha

I normally run out of conditioner first since it doesn't smear around as well as shampoo.Do you run out of Shampoo or Conditioner first...?
    Conditioner.

    It bothers me so much

when i'm in the shower and the bottle is empty.

I have to go out and buy a new one.

    And it's never even.

I always have more or less of one, even if i buy it in the same size.

So now I buy two bottles of conditioner at once.
Conditioner! I need my hair to be covered in conditioner, I have long hair so I probably use twice as much conditioner than shampoo since you only really need enough shampoo to cleanse your scalp.
Well, I use more shampoo than conditioner, normally I use one bottle of conditioner for 2 bottles of shampoo.
I use conditioner and i run out of conditioner first.
    Conditioner
    Conditioner, always!
    I use conditioner. : )
    Conditioner
    I dont use conditioner
    usually conditioner =/
Shampoo. My hair can't take too much moisture or I look like a homeless person. =\
I run out of Shampoo first. And yes, I use Conditioner. :]
always shampoo, I don't get it...

Is it ok if I shampoo my hair in the morning and use conditioner (but not shampoo) at night?

It depends on your hair washing routine.

If you wash your hair daily, then you do not need to condition it in the morning. And you may as well skip conditioning it at nighttime. Why? Because the more frequently you wash your hair, the faster your hair becomes oily. Which means that conditioning your hair every time you wash it will only make your hair oily much faster. Conditioning at night is pointless, in this case, because your hair should be oily by the end of the day. Therefore, it's getting everything it already needs to be healthy.

If your hair isn't oily by the end of the day, by all means condition it at night. It's best to condition your hair when it's dry anyways.

If you wash your hair infrequently (meaning, your hair does NOT get oily within 24 hours), you should be conditioning it right after shampooing it. Why? Because your hair is dry and prone to breakage and it needs to be protected. Therefore, waiting until nighttime just gives your hair more opportunities to break and become unhealthy. Is it ok if I shampoo my hair in the morning and use conditioner (but not shampoo) at night?
That's perfectly fine. Because the reason washing (shampooing) our hair is bad for it is because it washes out all the natural healthy oils, making your hair dry and less healthy. Whereas conditioner is very good for your hair because it well, conditions it! So you can condition as much as you'd like, just try not to over shampoo. Oh and you can also do a conditioning treatment on your hair where you leave it in over night (just wrap a towell around your head) and then rinse it out in the morning. Do that a couple times a month :)Is it ok if I shampoo my hair in the morning and use conditioner (but not shampoo) at night?
no, it damages your hair washing it constantly included
    No.

tesame but make sure you get ALL the shampoo out that could bue the cuase! lol
I shampoo, rinse, then put some apple cider vinegar in a pitcher of water, rinse that through my hair, then rinse again with clean water. It will cut the oil. It will also give you highlights.
get better foods in your diet.

hair and scalp health have a direct link to how well you eat.
You need to wash your hair more often, I would recommend you use Pantene Pro-V. They have the BEST hair products like EVER!
    Try NAIR!
i dont know but when you find out tell me
try useing vo5 oil treatment. it gets rid of the bad oils and gives you the good ones than use tressamay eww la la
Sounds like you do not need conditioner or at least only put it on the ends of your hair. As for shampoo you do not want to use a drying shampoo because that will only make your scalp produce more oil to compensate for moisture loss. I suggest Biolage hydrating shampoo and if you must use conditioner Biolage hydrating conditioner only on the ends of your hair.
se a deep-cleansing shampoo once a week.(try Back to Basics Citrus sage clarifying shampooo) Cover up midday grease by sprinkling or spraying a hair powder(Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder) on your roots. Or spritz them with volumizing spray and blow dry those sections. =]
use dawn dishwashing liquid once a week. it will take out all the oil/grease. seriously. this worked very well for my greasy oily hair and now its gone!
    Mane and tail
Try Using Paul Mitchell. It is really good,it helped my hair
TIGI shampoo and conditioners are the best....Must get a shampoo for greasy scalp.
Here are some brands I've tried.

What are the best Shampoo and Conditioners?

I have really long, brown thick hair. What would be the best Shampoo for my hair. and make sure it smells really good. oh and try to recommend from target or walmart. Thanks! What are the best Shampoo and Conditioners?
I have the same hair type. I like TRESemme products, especially conditioners. It really works, my hair is so soft, and it's not crazy expensive. What are the best Shampoo and Conditioners?
    None.

We do not know what your hair is like in detail, and even if we did, nothing works exactly the same for everyone.

Such as for me, most drug store products are too drying. So I have to use salon brands.

Check out http://www.makeupalley.com for reviews on shampoos and conditioners and see which ones have the best ratings for girls with your hair type.
Pantene it is amazing I'm a swimmer so the chlorine really hurts my hair and I always get Split ends until I started using pantene's moisture renewal. It's amazing an it doens't smell like fruity but or anything but it make your hair like so soft and smooth

Well, if your looking for OK quality, good price, and good smell then try Aussie shampoos/conditoners, they smell very exotic and work on my hair! another great cheap brand is Garnier Fructis they smell SOOO good and fruity! Yumm! Personally i think that Herbal Essences SUCKS!!! it does nothing to improve your hair, Oh and Dove stuff smells great too, i personally like Cool Moisture.Ok. i need like a REALLY good smelling shampoo and conditioner.?
I think all of the Aussie stuff (comes in dark purple containers) smells great. I love their shampoo and hairspray. Its kind of a sweet, fruity smell, but not something that's recognizable. Everything I've tried works really good too, plus my hairdresser says its good for your hair!
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix.

Organix has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! There isn't a shampoo that smells better than Organix! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, Harmon, etc. You'll love it!

My 5 yr old daughter has super thick spiral hair. Need help with shampoo/conditioner etc.?

My daughter has very thick spiral curly hair. It is very dry and hard to style. It keeps getting bushier and wont grow down it only seems to grow out on the sides to resemble an afro. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on shampoo/ conditioners or styling products I could use to help her. She is so tired of wearing it up in a pony tail and really wants to wear it down..My 5 yr old daughter has super thick spiral hair. Need help with shampoo/conditioner etc.?
i would post your same question on this forum

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

there's a section for parents with kids. That forum is much better for quality answer than YA!.

I'd suggest you look at doing what they call a low-poo or a no-poo method. Basically the frizz is caused by the detergents in shampoo. If you just use conditioner, and clean the scalp the frizz will calm down. Limit the amount of shampoo that goes into your daughters hair will have drastic effects on her hair.

Also check out lorraine massey book Curly Girl

    http://www.amazon.com/Curly-Girl-Lorrain鈥?/a>

they have great section for kids in that book.

    Edit.

i'm going to say, the rude comments are just out of control. Straighten is probably not feasible for a 5 year old.. beside it destroy hair.

the racist comments are just stupid

thin the hair is a good idea, i would suggest talking to your hair stylist about that, but it doesn't address the frizz problem. My 5 yr old daughter has super thick spiral hair. Need help with shampoo/conditioner etc.?
wow these people are rude! cant you just answer a simple question with out judging people!!!! idk if it will work for you but i have really thick dry , wavy hair and i use vo5 hot oil thats really cheap you can get it at walmart for like 3 bucks and i also use the biosilk silk thearpy that makes my hair nice and soft i would also tell your daughters hair dresser to thin her hair they have special razors/scissors that can thin it out and if that doesnt work then you could try chemically straightening it
I also have very thick, naturally curly hair. I use Mark Anthony Just Curls products and NEVER blow dry. Any heat appliances will dry out and make curly hair frizzy. Also - never brush, just gently comb. I also use styling products in the ';ethnic'; section that are olive oil based. It's important to use rich moisture and lots of it. Deep conditioning once a week is a must for me. Not exactly sure how to get a 5 year old to put up with all this, tho!
i have the same hair and i use the aveeno moisture shampoo and conditioner and i also use a keratin treatment from http://www.liquidkeratin.com/ and it works really well....dont relax it with anything else because it will make her hair more dry and that will cause frizz and damage...and if shes young chemicals wont be good for her...and also keratin makes the new hair that grows out more smooth and straighter
    Panten Pro-v Shampoo and conditioner

    And Motions Leave in Conditioner

and go to a salon to cut herhair so that she will be able to wear it down and to cut some of the bulk out of it [NOT to thin it To Remove BULK] Be Very Specific if They Dont knmow How To do It Rigt I COuld Be A Disaster
take her to get a trim, and blow dry it with a round brush but put some kinda spray serum in it to make it shine and not frizzy.just go to sallys and ask about those products or any beauty store.i would recommend using a flat iron bcuz she is just a little girl with natural hair.
If its dry you should deep condition once a week.

    Maybe every Sunday?

And Put Chi Silk infusion in before blow/air dry each morning.
Try straightening it. It'll probably last until she comes home from school.
go to the salon ask then to make her hair less thick [they use speacil sissors to cut it]

Anyone ever used bio infusion olive oil products? Looking for inexpensive all natural shampoo & conditioner.?

My daughter and I have decided to go natural with our hair. We are not going with the big chop so we need suggestions for shampoo %26amp; conditioners to use while going through the transition. Best shampoo and/or conditioner for dry brittle hair?

my hair gets really dry and frizzy and coarse in the summer and it's really frustrating.i've tried all kinds of products from cheap vo5 to paul mitchell tea tree and in between.does anybody have any suggestions of a shampoo or conditioner i should try?I've heard Biolage is great but im hesitant to try something kind of pricey if its not going to work.any help is greatly appreciated:)Best shampoo and/or conditioner for dry brittle hair?
Dove Hair Repair, the blue one. I had the same problem and after like 2 uses my hair is all silky and soft. I've tried all kinds of expensive stuff too, but this is the only thing that has ever helped me. Get the treatment in the jar too and use it like twice a week! Good luck!

Another option to Burts Bee's shampoo and conditioner..?

i used Burt's shampoo and conditioner and they dried my hair like crazy, i was wondering if there is another natural [ or vegan/organic/whatever] option out there that works and doesn't dry out my hair. Normally my hair is not dry, nor is it oily.

I've heard about LUSH, does their products work?

thanks for the help! Danke!Another option to Burts Bee's shampoo and conditioner..?
I love LUSH products! Currently I am using the Squeaky Green shampoo puck and Jungle solid conditioner. I have a lot of hair that is fine textured and slightly wavy (which results in poof when dry), with an itchy and slightly oily scalp and dry ends. The Squeaky Green cleanses thoroughly and calms my irritable scalp, while the Jungle conditions my hair and weighs it down just enough to keep it sleek. The shampoo pucks also last approximately 90 shampoos, so they are excellently priced for the amount of uses.

Visit http://www.lush.com and click on their hair care, which gives you the option between solid and bottled shampoos and conditioners. They have a guide that gives recommendations for each hair type, and each product has reviews that are very helpful in finding the product right for you. Also, each product shows an ingredient list (lists natural ingredients and safe synthetics in separate colors) and will say if it is vegan.

    Good luck!

Shampoo and conditioner questions (really easy)?

only people that know these questions for SURE answer only, cuz i dont wanna buncha random ppl that dunno anything about shampoo and conditioner answering :P

how many times a week r u suppose to shampoo and condition your hair?

are you suppose to condition your hair everyday? or will it be oily?

where are you suppose to put conditioner? everywhere except your roots, including your bangs if you have some?

answer ALL of them. best gets 10 points, thanksShampoo and conditioner questions (really easy)?
Shampooing and conditioning your hair every day is not good. Your hair needs the natural oils that is produced on the scalp. Depending on the texture of your hair you should probably only wash every other day.

Conditioner however should be put on the dry parts of your hair. If you have an oily scalp it will make it worse. Conditioner does add oil to the hair.

A good shampoo and conditioner is best for your hair such as Biolage or Paul Mitchell. Hope this helps!!!Shampoo and conditioner questions (really easy)?
If you have thick hair, wash it every other day. Do this with both conditioner and shampoo. Be sure when you wash you hair, that you're only putting shampoo on your roots, and rinsing out, then putting conditioner on your lower half. This will reduce oily hair by a ton! If you feel your hair is being super oily still..then skip the conditioner, every other time.

If you have thin hair every day. Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner, put shampoo in your roots, and conditioner on the lower half of your hair, etc. If your hair gets oily easily, you might not even need conditioner, maybe twice a week.

You can wash your bangs!, just not with conditioner..

    Hope this helped =]
Depending on how active you are (if you go to the gym everyday and work out, if you sweat a lot etc) it depends how often you should wash your hair. Age also matters. I find that after two days my hair becomes more noticeably dirty, so I wash my hair every day (shampoo and condition.) Yes conditioning your hair everyday is okay, as long as it is thoroughly washed out and you don't use too much. Use about a quarter sized amount and start and the bottom of your hair and work your way up. Running your fingers through your hair helps distribute it evenly. You shouldn't really need to condition your bangs because I'm guessing they don't get tangly.
You should shampoo and condition your hair at least three times a week.

If your hair is oily only condition it three times a week.. if it's dry condition it more that three times a week (every day is best).

You can condition your roots! Just don't use a lot when you're conditioning that section of your hair. About a dime size is good.

Yes, condition your bangs if you have them, follow the same rules for your roots. Condition the rest of your hair with a quarter size of conditioner.

Extra tip: To make your hair shine more and/or curl easier, finish your shower by rinsing your hair with cold water.

    Hope this helped!
    1) You should wash your hair every-other day so your hair doesn't dry out, if you wash it everyday it is possible for your hair to get dry.

    2) You should condition your hair every-time you wash it depending on whether you have naturally oily or dry hair if dry and tangles easily you should condition every-time.

    3) You are supposed to spread the conditioner evenly over all of your hair except the roots just making sure not to use to much. If you use to much it could become oily easier

    * Hope I helped :)
You are supposed to shampoo/condition every other day. Even less, if your hair doesn't get greasy easily.

You CAN condition your hair everyday, but only condition the ends, not the roots. If you condition your whole head it could be too much and start to look oily/greasy. You should probably stick to the ends of your bangs as well.
It's best to not shampoo and condition everyday. It'll dry out your hair. Do it every other day or every two days if your hair is dry. Everyday if oily.

It's your choice to condition everyday but for me, I have thicker hair, and it gets oily.

You put conditioner everywhere BELOW your ears. Not your bangs either because your roots WILL get oily once again if you have oily hair.
    1. It depends on how dry or oily your hair is, but for normal hair, about 4 times a week is good.

    2. Conditioning everyday will make it oily, but every other day is okay.

    3. Stay away from your roots. Apply conditioner only to about half of your hair. A little leave in conditioner on the bangs or a really tiny bit of conditioner on the ends is all right.

    Hope I helped!
I use both everyday. A lot of ppl i kno can skip a day of washing though.

Conditioning doesnt make my hair oily at all, and it usually doesnt make a difference if i put it on my roots

Which is better: shampoo or conditioner? :p?

Question about a shampoo and conditioner!?

does anyone know if Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner contain wax? and are these products good or bad for hair??Question about a shampoo and conditioner!?
don't use it!!!! your hair will get sorta stringy. try to limit your use of hair gel or hair spray or anything like that. the stuff is really bad for your hair. it'll dry it out and take away shine.Question about a shampoo and conditioner!?
I don't know, but it makes my hair feel too gunky (if that is even a word),
Look on the back for the ingredients. If it is making you hair feel heavy or greasy, you probably don't have the right type of hair for that product. That brand is made for people that have really thick hair, alot of hair. Your hair may just be too thin for that shampoo and conditioner.
I agree with Leogirl...I tried it and I didn't like how it made my hair feel...
i'm not sure if it does, but i wouldn't be suprised if i found out it did.

it makes your hair full of products that are just going to rouin it and make it so hard to manage.

it makes everything so unmanagable, it quite possibly could contain wax.

please don't use it, it's really bad for your hair, and you'll have constant knots.
I don't know about the shampoo and conditioner, but I used the detangler and it is amazing!!! I have long, straight, fine hair and the detangler makes my hair really soft, silky and shiny without the over-product feeling. The only thing I don't like about it is the smell. I wish it smelled better....hihi

  • Is it possible for pointy hair to become silky/smooth through shampoo/conditioner?

i want to have hair like here:

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/58/Bangs.jpg/100px-Bangs.jpg

problem is, my hair kinda stands up, and no matter how much you mess it up, it never changes it's form.

my friend's hair is like the one in the picture. his hair can easily be styled without having to use gel or wet it.

i wonder if it has something to do with the length of our hair? since his is longer than mine. but still, is it possible to have that kind of hair through a particular shampoo or conditioner?

if not, how?Is it possible for pointy hair to become silky/smooth through shampoo/conditioner?
has u ever try wax? its good and it don't look like gel. it looks normal ,

Try ironing the hair well i think is that how its called.

it actually works. Is it possible for pointy hair to become silky/smooth through shampoo/conditioner?
Condition the hair. Take some baby shampoo and squirt it on the top of your hair. Rub it for a while. Wash it of. You hair will feel hard but don't worry. Take a comb and brush through your hair. Dry your hair. DON'T USE A HAIR DRYER USER A TOWEL. then wait a few minutes. Your hair will have knots so brush it out and style it like the picture. Then you will have lovely hair. I did something like that to my cousin
I think that you will get a good result within 3 - 4 weeks if you :-

Wash your hair on a daily basis with Coco-nut Shampoo

Use conditioner after shampooing for 10 minutes %26amp; wash it thoroughly after that.

Rub softly your hair with 2 tea-spoons of olive oil for 3 minutes.

You will start to see the changes after the 1st week, but final results will be very clear after 3 weeks.
i think it's because of the hair length because one of these guys in my class has really silky.smooth hair..but when he cuts it..it does stick upp
Definately try Herbal Essenses Hello Hydration or Aussie. It works wonders and makes you hair so soft and silky!

Shampoo and conditioner 2x a day?

    i dont know

that i dont want to break or dull (quickly)

so i have breakage defence shampoo and color maintaining shampoo

good or bad idea to use them both in 1 day?Shampoo and conditioner 2x a day?
BAD! only do it 1x a day... combine the two

or do one the first time, then on the ';repeat'; step use the otherShampoo and conditioner 2x a day?
    hmm,

well if i were you i'd probably use a small amount of each.

    more protection?

    hope i helpedd.
yah def combine them .. XD

or youre hair will look real dry ;p
maybe yu could combine an anti-breakage shampoo with a color revitilizing conditioner?? or visa versa lol

if you wash your hair twice a day its likely to dry out and break anyway.
yeah it actually is...it drys out your hair.
No,once a day is okay, but even better is every other day. Having black hair makes no difference, unless it's died, and you have a natural light hair colour. Doing those both 2x a day is bad, your hair will get greasy.

Tresemme or Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner?

Tresemme shampoo and conditioner is good on my hair because it does not dry it out unlike pantene shampoo and conditioner.Tresemme or Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner?
Drugstore shampoos and conditioners are cheap for a reason. They are full of harsh chemicals that strip color and natural oils from your hair and cause damage. They are also full of wax the coats the outside of the hair shaft. But out of these Pantene is the absolute worst. They use the most wax and the harshest chemicals. If you must use a drugstore brand use Aussie. They use natural ingredients instead of all the chemicals and wax.Tresemme or Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner?
Tresemme definitely. Pantene contains wax that just makes your hair look shiny in the beginning, but then the wax starts building up and breaking your hair off. Pantene=bad. I don't know why Stacy London agreed to appear in their ads, I love her, but I doubt she'd ever put that crap in her hair.
    treseme is better.

i have found that it is better for keeping hair healthy

and pantene is for making hair healthier
Tresemme, I use the vitamin e moisture rich conditioner when I co-wash. Pantene is too drying.
    Tresemme definitely
    Tresemme is better.
I have used both, but I like tressemme better, plus is cheaper

  • How do I know when I have thoroughly rinsed out the shampoo/conditioner from my hair?

I mean, after I shower, I think I rinsed thoroughly, but when I come out and do stuff for a while, I find my hair is sort of...too silky, I guess. So I have to rinse my hair again under the sink, and it's irritating. I don't know how to be sure in the shower; I shampoo/condition last and when I rinse, I do so very hard until my hair feels like a chunk of sandpaper.

How can I know for sure, in the shower, while I rinse, that all the conditioner and shampoo is out of my hair so that I do not need to rinse under the sink later? How do I know when I have thoroughly rinsed out the shampoo/conditioner from my hair?
Look for soap suds/bubbles. If you see any when you are rinsing your hair, then you know there's still something in your hair. Otherwise, if the water seems to come out clean, it should be all out. Another way is just feeling through your hair, if you feel a ';slimy'; feeling, that's shampoo or conditioner. What I do also when I rinse clients hair is just run my hands through the hair quickly. If anything is left over, you'll see it form in their hair. How do I know when I have thoroughly rinsed out the shampoo/conditioner from my hair?
To know when shampoo is rinsed out thoroughly, there will be no suds/bubbles or 'lather' texture.

To know when your conditioner is rinsed thoroughly, there will be no silky, film like substance on your hair.

I recommend taking off the shower head and manually applying the water all over your head.
    rince it, untill

theres no bubbles in the water thats coming from ur hair.

after the shower dry your hair really well.
after shampooing your hair should feel silky that's ok if you have soap left in or if it feels hard to the touch or even if you hear like a swooshing sound then rinse the hair again.

If you don't like the silky feeling change shampoo and conditioner this way you will no longer have that feeling But it should feel smooth and silky after shampooing not hard and squeaky
Try using Shampoo/conditioner in one bottle, you will be able to tell faster if its rinsed out, also it won't be too silky or too rough.

Is this African-American hair myth true? Also, what type of shampoo/conditioner?

My grandmother always told me to oil/grease my scalp every other day because black people don't have hair glands. That really mystifies me, though.

The best sense I can make of it is that some people have naturally drier hair than others, and a lot of them belong to the ';black'; community.

Anyway, I also wanted to know what shampoo and conditioner I should use. I'm currently using Pantene Pro-V for my hair. My hair is naturally curly when wet, and dries straight. It has been almost 2yrs since I had a ';texturizer';, and I'm not getting it again due to severe breakage. My hair is a little bit below the shoulder, very thick, and I guess you could say my hair is 3b when wet, and 1 1/2 or 2 when dry.

Also, when recommending the shampoo/conditioner, please have an educated estimate. I don't want to ruin my hair.Is this African-American hair myth true? Also, what type of shampoo/conditioner?
What you use on your hair will depend on your hair type. If your hair is not naturally curly then you might want to find something other than mixed chicks, because that's for people with curly hair. Curly hair tends to be dryer than other hair types. The curlier it is then the dryer it is. If you're hair is not naturally curly then you wouldn't use the same products as someone with curly hair. Your true hair type is what your hair looks like when it's dry, not damp or wet.

Your grandma is wrong. There are a lot of myths floating in the black community regarding proper hair care. Unfortunately, hair abuse is probably the number one cause of why you don't see many blacks with mid-back or waist-length hair. People with relaxers need to grease/oil their scalp because relaxers dries out the hair. Others also oil/grease their scalp because they just have a very dry scalp. I haven't had to put anything on my scalp since I was relaxed, and I've been natural for about 11 months, and I only need to put moisturizer on my hair, not scalp. And, on top of that, how often your grease your scalp depends on how quickly it dries. My sister can go a long while without putting anything on her scalp, although she might want to do it more often since she suffers from flaky dry scalp, haha, but she could go much longer than 2-3 days without greasing.

Organic and natural shampoos are usually the best for your hair because they don't contain harsh ingredients. I use Wen cleansing conditioner, which is not a shampoo, and this cleans my hair and leaves it very moisturized. Regular shampoos dry out the hair because they contain sulfates. Organic/natural shampoos do not contain this harsh ingredients and your hair will retain some moisture, which means you can wash more often without completely stripping your hair of oil. These types of shampoos can be found at health foods stores, Walgreens, online, and other brick-and-mortar stores. Most that you find on the shelves are not 100% certified organic, but Dr. Bonners is an example of a bar shampoo that is 100% certified organic. Some have a high percentage of organic ingredients like Yes to Carrots and Giovanni. They're both certified organic and are completely natural, but they are not 100% organic (confusing? lol). They don't need to be 100% organic to be certified organic (just a high percentage of organic ingredients). There are many on the market and you will have to experiment to find the right one(s) for your own hair, which is why I don't have any recommendations.

Yes, most blacks tend to have extremely dry hair because our natural hair is the curliest, you'd be hard pressed to find another race with hair that's as curly as our, and the curlier your hair is then the drier it will be. And, the drying relaxers that most blacks use is another reason. Also, what the other person said about oil glands - it's difficult for the natural oil to travel down an extremely curly hair strand, so it doesn't reach the ends of the hair and leaves the hair very dry, whereas those with straight or wavy hair won't really have this problem and can suffer from hair that's too oily.

Technically, those who don't use shampoo will still have to clarify their hair to get rid of the build-up and ingredients that conditioner alone cannot get out. Clarifying can be with a clarifying shampoo or conditioner, or homemade ingredients like adding baking soda to their conditioner and this strips their hair to get rid of all the dirt and grim that conditioner alone cannot get out. Also, there's low-poo, people who condition most of the time and will use shampoo like once a week to once a month in order to completely clean their hair.Is this African-American hair myth true? Also, what type of shampoo/conditioner?
I would say Yes the myth is true to a certain extent but, it all depends on genetics many other races face the same problem so its not just confined to blacks maybe a lil' more common in blacks but once again its genetics. I would say head %26amp; shoulders is really good even if you don't have dandruff it is really good for your scalp It really helped my dry scalp or maybe try garnier frutese or however you spell it works well too. But, I'd say Head %26amp; Shoulders if you havn't tried it yet
    your grandma is wrong

ppl with curly hair like us including whites w/curly hair or ppl with kinky hair tends to be drier since the oils cant travel down like straight hair

plus genetics plays a role too

you shud switch to mixed chicks hair products

    they're awesome

if yu must use shampoo plz dilute it. most curly headed ppl opt to not use shampoo at all since conditioner does the same job

organic produtcs always works like a charm
no because our hair is coily our natural oils doesnt travel down our hair shaft good. For better answers to evey question you need check these 3 hair sites out and join. For afro-textured hair. whether your hair is kinky, coily, curl or all the aboue :D
    No its not true.

STop using pantene. It is full of wax and it will just eventually weigh down your hair.
the oils on your scalp can't get to your ends fast enough cuase of the curls. granmas myth was half way right.
    just say black!!!
idk but i use doo gro and its amazing i love it!
This is funny because actually my grandmother told me the complete opposite and i always thought she was lying because so many black people grease their scalp. She told me to never se grease on your scalp, it causes dandruff. Which i found out later to be true, and if you stop using grease on your hair you will notice that your hair will start to get oilier as now your natural oils have a chance to be put to use. Black people definitely have oil glands, watch, go without putting any grease or oil on your hair %26amp; dont wash it for a week. It will still get greasy.

As far as shampoo and conditioner go, i personally like Loreal Hydra Gloss for Dry Hair or their new Sulfate free Everpure line. I dont know what you mean about an educated estimate when referring to shampoo, its all about trial and error because everyones hair is different. Your best bet is to invest in the moisturizing version of any brand you like, as african american AND chemically processed hair both are typically very dry and I have found that that works best on anyones hair including my own.

Can I use a different brand styling product than the brand shampoo/conditioner that I use?

I use Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner. I've been looking for a product which would define or enhance the natural wavy curls of my hair. I was looking at Aussie's Catch the Wave leave in conditioner + mousse that is supposed to do just that. Would it be okay to use Aussie and Garnier products on my hair?

Also, if I should stick to Garnier, which product do you suggest for what I want to do? Or, if I can go with Aussie, do you think the product I named would be the right one?

Thanks! Can I use a different brand styling product than the brand shampoo/conditioner that I use?
they only say for you to use the same shampoo/products because they want to make more money! i don't think it makes any difference on how good they work. I think that the Aussie product sounds great, I love leave-in conditioners!

  • Whats the best anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner?

It depends. Use this guide to find out which one is the best for you: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>Whats the best anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner?
    Hi,

You could try Tea Tree anti-dandruff shampoo %26amp; Conditioner.

Here is some information on tea tree which may be of some help to you.

    Tea Tree Oil 鈥?Nature鈥檚 Healer

Everyone's heard of Tea Tree oil now but are the full range of its amazing properties well known?

Aborigines have recognised its healing qualities for hundreds of years, it鈥檚 natural and it can heal cuts and burns, boils and warts, athlete鈥檚 foot and thrush, and boost the immune system. It is antiseptic, a fungicide, fights bacteria and viruses, has anti-inflammatory qualities, expectorant and balsamic characteristics. It is a natural household disinfectant and insecticide and can even be used as a household cleaner.

Tea Tree oil, distilled from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia plant found in Australia, is a complex chemical substance made up of almost 50 chemical compounds. The oil is pale yellow and has a pungent medicinal smell.

The Tea Tree plant is a spindly shrub with soft, bright green needle-like leaves, and tiny cream or yellow flowers. It is native to swampy areas of New South Wales, but as demand has grown more plantations have been cultivated in the same part of Australia. As the healing properties of Tea Tree oil become more and more recognised, it is fast becoming a massive industry.

While Australia is at the forefront of this industry, other countries that have begun to produce the plant include Zimbabwe, New Zealand, and Ecuador.

Where Tea Tree got its name

The Melaleuca Alternifolia plant was traditionally used by Aborigines to treat cuts, wounds and skin infections, by making mud packs with the crushed up leaves. The name 鈥楾ea Tree鈥?emanated from Captain Cook and the crew of HMS Endeavour who landed in Australia in 1770, picked the aromatic leaves to make a spicy and refreshing cup of tea and even brew their own beer!

As early as 1923 clinical trials in Australia proved that Tea Tree oil had antiseptic and bactericidal properties, and was 13 times as effective as carbolic which was the standard at that time. Its diverse healing qualities made it standard issue in the first aid kits in the Australian Army and Navy during World War II. However, after the war the advent of antibiotics and other man-made drugs meant that Tea Tree oil, like other natural remedies, was largely overlooked.

    What it heals

Dissatisfaction with the side-effects of 20th century drugs set in during the 1970s and Tea Tree oil became popular again, but mainly in Australia. Nowadays the average Aussie household has a bottle of Tea Tree oil in their medicine cabinet and the rest of us are waking up to its amazing qualities.

There are many applications for Tea Tree oil. Taken as a mouthwash it can eliminate bad breath, gingivitis and mouth ulcers, and used as a gargle in warm water it soothes sore throats. It can be applied neat on burns, bites, cold sores, spots and rashes, or it can be diluted in the bath or on a compress for sunburn, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.

An effective insect repellent when dabbed on the temples, ankles and wrists, Tea Tree oil can be put in a base oil and massage into the muscles to ease rheumatism and back ache. Its antiseptic properties prevent the spread of germs and used in an oil burner, it can be inhaled to protect people from flu and fever, while easing sleep and bronchial conditions.

    Head lice

Young children frequently get head lice from school, and the rest of the family are likely to get them too. Lice thrive on clean hair and it has nothing to do with being dirty. To prevent and eliminate: add 5-10ml of Tea Tree oil per 100ml of unperfumed, pH balanced organic shampoo. Massage into the scalp for 10 minutes before rinsing. Use a special comb (available from chemists) to check if lice are present, and if so, repeat treatment every two to three days as the treatment will not kill the eggs and these need to have hatched to catch them.

    Bronchitis/sinusitis/colds

There are several ways in which Tea Tree oil can help. Five drops of oil can be put into a bowl of boiling hot water and inhaled for five to ten minutes 鈥?if you can bear it that long. Put 8-10 drops in the bath to encourage the body to sweat, and go to bed straight after. Keep the bath cool if body temperature is high. At bedtime three drops of oil added to base oil can be massaged into the chest, back and throat and combined with other oils like eucalyptus and lavender.

    Dermatitis and eczema

Neat Tea Tree oil can be dabbed on the affected area once or twice a day. For larger areas mix 25 drops of Tea Tree oil into 100ml boiled water and apply twice a day when it has cooled. Take regular baths containing tea tree oil drops. It is important to do a patch test on the skin first. Dab some oil on to a healthy area of skin and leave for an hour to see if irritation occurs. Alternatively you could use a Tea Tree oil based hand and body lotion.

I use the store brand next to Head and Shoulders. It doesn't stink and I just shower with it. since it has zink in it, it kills the fungus between my toes, and my feet and crotch don't smell bad any more. You will have to try different conditioners because we are all different. There is no one size fits all.
Head and shoulders seems to make it worse.Take it from me I have had a dandruff problem for years.Use sulfur 8 shampoo and grease. Also try Selson Blue.

Which bottle goes in first ';Shampoo'; or ';Conditioner'; ?

As i will be washing my hair of course. It shall be damn shinny. ha haWhich bottle goes in first ';Shampoo'; or ';Conditioner'; ?
first shampoo then conditionerWhich bottle goes in first ';Shampoo'; or ';Conditioner'; ?
you need to use the right type of shampoo. Cheaper brands like fructis for example ruin your hair. I use aussie shampoo and its so good you dont even need to use conditioner. The trick is- to wet your hair and then comb it through before putting the shampoo on. Then put on the shampoo - comb it through again and then let it be for 3 mins. Then you can wash it off. Everyone that ive told this says its good!! Leaving conditioner in makes your hair greasy and causes dandruff- i dont recommend doing that. Use conditioner once or twice a week- but not everytime you wash your hair.

    Have fun hair washing xx
Shampoo. Pick one that goes with your hair type e.g frizzy, curly etc.

Then if there is a special conditioner use that too. Plus I think you can buy creams and things to make it really shiny, to put on in the morning or something. Or just ask a hairdresser what to do!! :)
shampoo removes grease and dirt residue so use first. then conditioner. dont use much conditioner near the roots or your hair could become langy. comb the conditioner through your hair with a fine toothed comb. leave on for about 10 mins. then rinse away with clean water. unless its a leave in type.
Lather with shampoo, Lather again because I don't think you've ever washed your hair before...then rinse with Conditioner. Girrrrl!
Shampoo first... the shampoo cleans out your hair and the conditioner makes your hair silky and smooth...
shampoo, shampoo, conditioner (leave on till next morning and wash the next day) Gives you shiny hair :)
    They are all wrong the water goes on first then shampoo x2 then rinse then conditioner then rinse then dry';
    shampoo...use lots of conditioner
    shampoo
what does damn shinny mean??? Have you never washed your hair?

Permanent hair colour faded after 2 weeks, Colour lock-in shampoo/conditioner makes hair heavy and lifeless?

I've got dark blonde hair, which is very fine. I coloured it with Garnier Belle Colour Natural Dark Brown Permanent about 2 weeks ago. Normally I use Pantene shampoo/conditioner for thin/fine hair which does a great job but because the colour was fading I switched to Sunsilk Colour and Shine shampoo/conditioner in a hope to lock-in the remaining colour. However, it's made my hair dull, lifeless and even greasy looking. Can anyone help with suggestions for the following:

    1. A hair colour brand that doesn't fade so quickly

    2. A shampoo/conditioner that locks in colour without making it so dull/greasy looking

Or should I just go back to my regular shampoo/conditioner?

Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.Permanent hair colour faded after 2 weeks, Colour lock-in shampoo/conditioner makes hair heavy and lifeless?
I use Clairol's Nice and Easy and have done for 15 years now. I too have fine hair, but over the last couple of years it has thickened (maybe due to the new conditioner included in the box). As I have very long hair, I need 2 boxes, but get extra conditioner.

My hair hasn't faded or gone ';brassy';, is in fantastic condition ( I use TRESemme shampoo and conditioner for strawlike hair so I get the extra boost needed).

I do get a lot of compliments about my crowning glory!Permanent hair colour faded after 2 weeks, Colour lock-in shampoo/conditioner makes hair heavy and lifeless?
I had the same problem with my color so I went to Sally's Beauty Supplies and I now use a color enhancing shampoo by Clairol and it brightens up your color between colorings. It's in a purple bottle, I use it twice a week and use Pantene volume the other days.

Try the shampoo I think you will like it.
When shampooing, you should use something without sulfates like Pureology, or Pravana. Sulfates strip color. The first two can only be bought at salons, but they work and they even have formulas for fine hair. Also, they're both concentrated, so even though they cost more, they're worth it.

As far as a haircolor that doesn't fade, if you keep putting permanent color all over your hair, that's your problem. The peroxide keeps opening the outer cuticle of your hair, making it more porous (think of a sponge with too many holes in it), and that's why you're losing color. Just do the permanent at your roots and use a semi-permanent matching color on your ends. Some people just run the color on their ends at the last five or ten minutes and that's usually okay. But if that still makes it fade, you're better off going with a semi-permanent on your ends since you're just depositing color at this point.

It's hard to make a judgement online, but it can also have to do with the condition of your hair. You might want to get a series of deep conditioning treatments to even out the porosity of your hair too. The healthier your hair is, the better it'll hold color.

I learnt this from my textiles class teacher.

All hair, animal and human, are made up of little pores. Animal hair pores are shorter. Human hair pores are further apart. However people with curly hair have more hair pores put together... Do you know what felt-fabric is? It's made by putting lots of hair together wet and hot, then squeezing it cold and dry.

Hair pores then LOCK together, creating the felt-fabric which is tough and hard to break and undo.

    Hot water opens pores.

    Cold water closes pores.

What you just did sounds like that... you washed your hair, clumped it together and let it dry, then tried to rinse it out.

You should NOT put a shower cap over your hair.

Follow these steps PRECISELY. Do not put anything in a shower cap. Stay in the shower, keep your hair wet smooth and long.

    1) First, shampoo your hair.

    2) Rinse.

    3) Use conditioner/jojoba oil

    4) Leave in for a few minutes

    5) Rinse

    6) Use leave in conditioner

    7) leave in for a few minutes

    8) Rinse with cold water.

My hair is falling out, I think it's my shampoo/conditioner?

-I used Herbal Essences for 4 months and my hair never seemed to grow and was really thin, I never knew why..

-So I switched to Garnier from Herbal Essences and my hair seemed to fall out A LOT less..

-The I used Garnier length and strength shampoo %26amp; infuseium 23 conditioner for a month and my hair came out A LOT less..

-THEN..last night I ran out of I23 Conditioner so I bought Herbal Essences conditioner again and used it about 10 minutes ago in my shower and my hair started coming out in my hands..

    - Then I went to go brush my hair and it was all packed in my comb..

-Maybe I'm allergic to Herbal Essences??

-I have heard other rumors about Herbal Essences making your hair fallout??My hair is falling out, I think it's my shampoo/conditioner?
YEAH... I also heard about that. It happened to me. I think you should stop useing it right away and never buy it again. Because you my friend are allergic to it!My hair is falling out, I think it's my shampoo/conditioner?
i have heard about herbal essences making your hair fall out!

it has something to do with the amount of fragrance they put in there product i think..

i would just stay away from it and get a new shampoo and conditioner (one that is very moisturizing)
yes yes you could be allergic to something Herbal Essences uses in there shampoo and conditioner

Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?

    Hi there :)

I have a little bit of a dandruff problem.

I looked up on Y!A about which product is suitable

    and found T-Gel by Neutrogena

My regular shampoo and conditioner is Rose Hips By Herbal Essences Classics

    I'm just wondering:

    1) Can i use an anti-dandruff product and then use my regular shampoo?

    2) If I only use the dandruff product, and my dandruff stops, can i go back to using my regular without worrying if it will come back?

    10 points for Best Answer!

Thanks so so much in advance ;)Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?
    1) Yes you can. I do because I find that dandruff shampoo is thicker and conditions better.

    2) It shouldn't come back because dandruff is a bacteria and the shampoo should have killed it. However, many people with dry scalp think they have dandruff when they really don't and it may come back. I have very dry scalp so I use Herbal Essences Smooth and Sleek because it is very conditioning and I have no more flakes! Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?
it's been two months since i was told this (the best 2 mo for my hair ever) don't waste money on dandruff shampoos. instead, every time you wash your hair with your HE add 1 tblspoon of sugar to shampoo and wash/rinse as usual. oh and only wash hair with cold water. try it. i did. and i a SOOO THANKFULL
    1) yes you can, but its best if you just use the T-Gel.

2)well, use it for a couple of days after its gone, then go back to using your regular shampoo.

    Hope i helped :)

It all depends on what is causing hair to fall out. Normally, there is nothing that you can put on the outside of the skin that is going to affect what is going on under the skin, where the roots are. The roots are the active, alive part of the hair. They are not affected by the outside whatsoever, not even cutting, or applying any kind of substance.

Is your hair getting thinner? Or are you only noticing hair coming out? There is a difference. It is normal for us to lose about 80 to 100 hairs a day. A Day!! But the good news is that these roots almost always grow another hair in that follicle. Once the root in that follicle dies, a hair will never grow there again. Once we are in our late teens, we start to lose some hair. It is a very slow process, and we don't notice it until a few years later that the hair is getting thinner. So there is no problem here, unless you can actually see more scalp showing than before. This is a problem more for men, and women rarely get thinner hair until about 40-50, and they don't normally go bald as men do.

Before you get all worried, check that you are actually losing hair (they are not being replaced) and check your health and nutrition. There is nothing you can do on the outside to make any hair grow. It all has to come from within. As long as you are in good health, so will your hair be in good shape too.Do you know a good shampoo and conditioner for hair that is falling out, it cant be more than £3?
    Hi

Theres no shampoo/conditioner that will stop hair from falling out... if there was all the bald men would use it.

I suggest you see a gp to find out a reason.

It may just be natural sheading or it could be breakage due to over bleaching etc.

The very best cheap shampoo/conditioner out there is sunsilks. Makes your hair lovely, shiny and soft.

Hi, if your hair is falling out allot maybe its just that your hair is quite sensitive. try using baby shampoo or other ones that are quite natural and have no perfume etc in them.

    good luck :)
Can you not widen your budget a bit? I mean, normal shampoo such as herbal essences are like £3.29 already! (400ml)
