Using conditioner as shampoo?

okay i have natural non-permed african hair which i usually wash once a week, and i've heard that if i want my hair to be really moisturized i should wash it with conditioner only, not shampoo.

so now i'm thinking of washing it with conditioner once a week, but once a month washing with shampoo AND conditioner.

what do you think?Using conditioner as shampoo?
Dont do that! as someone who has been a hairdresser all her life take it from me girlfriend you do NOT wanna do that. The shampoo is what takes out all the grit and dirt from your hair. the conditioner keeps it slick n shiny. if you really want that conditioner effect just buy a hair serum from TIGI or Wella or a leave-in conditioner. but dont wash with only shampoo else your hair will fall out. the leave-in conditioner i use is Ego Boost from Bed Head TIGI. its expensive but its totally worth it. it repairs split ends and it prevents further splitting.

also you need to wash your hair 2ice or 3ice a week. no more no less.Using conditioner as shampoo?
ive been thinking about that 2, i heard one girl call it milk washing? i think thats what she called it.. but yea, ima try that 2... i actually have done that a few times and my hair was really soft, and i think washing it the once a month would work really well
Well shampoo is what cleans it, so i would recommend using shampoo and conditioner 2-3 times a week at least. And if you want really moisturized. Then use a DEEEEP conditioner once a week. But yeah.. if you want CLEAN hair, then this is what you should do.
Please dont do that! You need to cleanse your hair and conditioners just dont do it. Especially with black hair, people think we shouldnt wash our hair often but its ok to as long as you in ADDITION condition it well. If your seeing that you have a moisture problem try a moisturizing shampoo and when you condition your hair put on a shower cap for about 10 min and let the heat from your scalp help the conditioner really penetrate the hair cuticle. Also try hot oil treatments every month. But you definately need to shampoo your hair atleast weekly.
